These are a few of the questions and answers that we hear most often.....

Q1: I am thinking about coming to Korea to work, how can I find the nearest meeting?

A1: The are about 29 English meetings a week throughout Korea. They can be found in Seoul (8), Donduchon (6), Osan (7), Pyoungteck (4), Taegu (1), Kunsan (2), and Bunsan (1). Please see our "Meetings Page" for a list of meetings in Korea.

We provide a list of persons willing to act as contact points in all areas of Korea. Please see our "Loners Page" for a complete list.

We suggest that any alcoholic, with many years or a few days of sobriety, think carefully about the meeting availability, the logistics of finding a meeting, and your tentative work schedule before coming to Korea. Also, note that work schedules often change after you get to Korea.

Q2: Will I be able to get to meetings easily if I live outside of Seoul?

A2: It depends on the proximity of the meeting, your work schedule, and logistics of getting there and away. For example, one member commutes by bus about once a week from a city outside Seoul to our Saturday night speaker meeting; it takes about 1.5 hours each direction.

At this time we don't maintain bus schedules, commuting distances, or commuting times from city-to-nearest meeting. We can however, put you in touch with a member of the group and they can give a better idea about your specific case. Please see our "Meetings Page" or "Loners Page" for a Point of Contact (POC).

Q3: Will I be able to get into a Military Installation to attend an AA meeting?

A3: Some meetings are held on military installations. In this case, be 100% sure to bring your passport and Korean Alien Registration Card as you will need to be escorted by a AA member with escort privileges. Because of the current world security problem, some countries known to be "unfriendly" to the USA are not allowed on US military installations. Check with the meeting point-of-contact for more information.

Note that all the meetings in Seoul do not require an escort or ID to enter. Please see our "Meetings Page" for more information.
